Second Iakovidis in the B group of 85t class.

Excellent performance from Theodore Iakovidis. The Greek champion took the 2nd place in B group of 85t class. 350 kg in total. The position in the final classification will be made known at dawn Saturday ( 13/8 ).

Only lost the latter, when placed on the bar 197 kg in clean and jerk, in order to overcome the French man , Giovanni Barntis (165 – 192-357 ) and simultaneously to improve his personal record was 353 pounds. Pick therefore successively 151 , 156 and 160 kg in the snatch , 186 and 190 in clean and jerk , before making a desperate attempt to 197.

With less than a month of preparation, since the Iakovidis and coach Valerius Leonides informed that Greece got the Olympic qualification in mid-July, its presence in Rio is entirely successful .

The position in the final classification will be made known at dawn Saturday ( 13/8 ) after carrying the A group, which involved 11 athletes.
