Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce thumped the Muller Anniversary Games meeting record, underlining her status as the world\u2019s foremost female sprinter with 100m<\/g> victory.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jamaican clocked 10.78 in a very slight \nwind to eclipse her own six-year meeting record, leaving home favourite \nDina Asher-Smith behind thanks to a blistering start. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asher-Smith finished second in 10.92 with Marie-Josee Ta Lou third with a time of 10.98. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A host of keynote performances in the field were led\n by Daniel Stahl who smashed Gerd Kanter\u2019s discus meeting record from \n2010 with a 68.56 hurl. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Swede, whose third throw blew the field out of \nthe water, continued a fine run of form that saw him clear 70 metres at \nDiamond League Doha and also emerge victorious from DL Oslo. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two medallists from the 2017 World Championships in \nLondon went toe-to-toe in the high jump, with Mutaz Barshim settling for\n second and Majededdin Ghazal\u2019s 2.30 clearance.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On his return to competitive action after 18 months \non the sidelines, the Qatari cleared 2.27 at the third attempt but two \nfailures at 2.30 saw him bow out. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A breakneck women\u2019s 5000m was claimed by Hellen \nObiri, who outlasted Mile world record holder Sifan Hassan and \nfast-finishing Agnes Tirop, cutting the tape at 14:20.36. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The double Diamond Trophy winner led at the bell and\n made her rivals pay on the back straight, surging to a world lead and \nmeeting record. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am so happy because this is my favourite track and I have done my best and I ran the way I wanted to,\u201d said the Kenyan.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn the last lap I was thinking, work hard and I \nsaid to myself when I went past Hassan: ‘let me go and see if you can \ncatch me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And among the Brits, Sophie Hahn stopped a matter of\n milliseconds short of breaking the world record she set at this meet a \nyear ago but claimed comfortable T35-38 victory with 12.45. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a superb day for the Chinese contingent, with Zhenye Xie shocking the world with an area record in the non-Diamond League 200m and Wenjun Xie dipping to win a brutal 100m hurdles<\/g>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
