In a showdown \nbetween Chinese divers Yang Jian and Yang Hao on the men&#8217;s 10m platform \nfinal, it was Yang Jian who finally shined as the newly-crowned champion\n at the 18<sup>th<\/sup> FINA World here on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>China bagged 12 gold, nine silver and one bronze to top the medal \ntable after the diving competition finished, while Australia snatched \nthe remaining gold in mixed 3m springboard. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the 10m platform, Qiu Bo claimed the world crown on three \noccasions in 2011, 2013 and 2015, before Tom Daley (GBR) got the gold in\n 2017. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daley started high 93.50 points for his 307C in the first round. \nHowever, he made errors in the next four dives and had to concede to a \nseventh final place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"515\" src=\"https:\/\/athleticdb.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/e045551b-5fa7-4d51-8244-8812e4fca145-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-407\" srcset=\"https:\/\/athleticdb.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/e045551b-5fa7-4d51-8244-8812e4fca145-1.jpg 768w, https:\/\/athleticdb.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/e045551b-5fa7-4d51-8244-8812e4fca145-1-300x201.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><figcaption>The medallists in the 10m platform &#8211; Photo by gettyimages<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Yang Jian, silver medalist in Budapest, combined consistence and \ndifficulty in all his six divers, winning in 598.65 for his first world \ntitle. He dominated the field from the second dive on and never looked \nback by soaring to 104.40 for his fifth dive, a 207B (Back 3 1\/2 \nsomersault pike), including three 10s. He ended up with his trademark \ncombination, a 109B (Forward 4 1\/2 somersault pick), worth a massive \n114.80 points! The 25-year-old kissed the pool after winning the title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yang Hao, 21, synchro platform champion in Budapest, showed six \nflawless attempts by earning 13 perfect marks despite his lower \ndifficulty compared to Yang Jian. He snatched the silver medal after he \nwithdraw from the mixed 3m springboard with Chang Yani in the \nafternoon.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aleksandr Bondar of Russia finished third with 541.05 and 13-year-old Oleksii Sereda of Ukraine was fourth in 490.50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/athleticdb.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/gettyimages-1163160433.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-409\" srcset=\"https:\/\/athleticdb.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/gettyimages-1163160433.jpg 768w, https:\/\/athleticdb.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/gettyimages-1163160433-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><figcaption>Tom Daley (GBR) &#8211; Photo by gettyimages<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Mixed 3m springboard synchro<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Australians Maddison Keeney\/Mattew Carter won the only non-Chinese \ngold medal at these Championships, dominating the mixed 3m springboard \nsynchro final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chinese Yang Hao\/Chang Yani withdrew from the event since Yang needed to compete in the men&#8217;s 10m platform final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maddison Keeney\/Matthew Carter, who competed for the first time together, had a flying start in their first dive, but downed to eighth after their second dive, a 301B (Reverse dive pike). Lou Massenberg\/Tina Punzel of \nGermany finished third in 301\/62.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tom Daley\/Grace Reid (GBR), bronze medallists in Budapest, placed fourth in 298.47.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mixed synchro events were introduced in the world championships \nprogramme in 2015. Chinese diver Wang Han snatched two gold medals in a \nrow with different partners. I trained well before the competition but it \nwasn&#8217;t my day. I started off really well and finished really well, but I\n could not find my rhythm in the middle. It gives me a lot of \nmotivation. The Chinese divers were absolutely incredible.
