There, she destroyed France\u2019s Manon Brunet (2019 European Championships silver medalist), 15-6. In the quarterfinals, she beat another Frenchwoman, Cecilia Berder (two-time World Championships medalist), 15-13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Greek came up short in the semifinals, falling 11-15 to top-seeded Sofia Velikaya of Russia. Ukraine\u2019s Olha Karlan then defeated Velikaya to win gold. Romanian Bianca Pascu went away with a bronze medal, as did Gkountoura.
